Scoot inaugurates flights to Hangzhou
25th October 2015, Singapore – It’s a celebration as Scoot inaugurates flights to
Hangzhou, China – a place described by Marco Polo as “Paradise on Earth” when he visited in 1290.
Operated with the all-new Boeing 787 Dreamliner, Scoot flight TZ108 takes off this afternoon
from Singapore to Hangzhou, marking Scoot’s fifth destination in China. This brings the total
number of Scoot destinations to 16 in eight countries and territories.
“Scoot is excited to bring international guests to Hangzhou to experience the breathtaking
beauty of the West Lake, as they immerse in ancient Chinese heritage and enjoy the region’s
iconic Longjing tea in the beautiful surroundings of a traditional teahouse,” said Campbell
Wilson, Scoot CEO.
“We are delighted to fly guests on the world’s first all-787 Dreamliner fleet – offering new
features such as inflight internet, in-seat power throughout the aircraft, a spacious cabin and
all the choices, value and Scootitude that Scoot is known for,” he added.
Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang province, is centred around the beautiful West Lake, which
is lined by attractions such as Solitary Hill, Ling Yin Temple and Six Harmonies Pagoda. The
region is also known for its Longjing (Dragon Well) Green Tea, which is best enjoyed in historic
teahouses by the lake, and its production of premium quality Chinese silk.
Scoot, which has been voted 2015 Best Low Cost Airline in Asia Pacific, takes over the
Singapore-Hangzhou route from SilkAir, with the aim of increasing the SIA Group’s capacity
on this route.
As Scoot takes delivery of two 787 Dreamliners this month alone, it continues its expansive
growth with a fleet of nine aircraft and more exciting destination launches in the pipeline.
Details of flight numbers and flight schedules for services between Singapore and Hangzhou
on the new Scoot service are outlined below.
