Southern Vision Investment Takes Strategic Stake in AVi8 Airways

Southern Vision Investment has become a strategic investor in startup AVi8 Airways, providing financial backing as the Vietnamese carrier works toward certification and the launch of commercial operations in 2027.

The size and terms of the investment were not disclosed and are expected to be detailed in future regulatory filings. AVi8 said the transaction provides financial support for its certification process and establishes SVI as a long-term investor in the airline.

AVi8 is developing an ACMI and charter business focused on Southeast Asia and the wider Asia-Pacific market. Its fleet plan includes Airbus A320-family aircraft for passenger operations and A321F and A330F freighters for cargo services.

The airline plans to begin commercial operations with cargo services in 2027 before expanding into passenger charter and ACMI flying. Its strategy is centered on providing capacity to other airlines and customers requiring additional aircraft during seasonal demand peaks or for specialized operations.

AVi8 intends to expand its fleet progressively after launch rather than establish its planned aircraft portfolio immediately. The investment from SVI is expected to support that development as the company moves through certification and initial fleet acquisition.

The agreement follows AVi8’s emergence in 2026 with plans to establish a dedicated ACMI and charter platform serving Southeast Asia.
