CALC Selects CFM LEAP-1A Engines for Additional Airbus A320neo Family Aircraft

China Aircraft Leasing Group Holdings (CALC) has selected CFM International LEAP-1A engines to power an additional 20 Airbus A320neo and A321neo aircraft, expanding its commitment to the next-generation engine family.

The latest agreement increases CALC’s total LEAP-1A engine selections to 90 aircraft. The lessor has already taken delivery of 51 LEAP-powered A320neo family aircraft, which are leased to 13 airline customers, while its broader portfolio also includes 73 CFM56-powered aircraft leased to 18 operators.

CALC said the order supports its strategy of investing in fuel-efficient aircraft and engines as airlines continue to modernize fleets and improve operational efficiency. The company has partnered with CFM since 2013, when it selected CFM56-5B engines for its first Airbus A320ceo family order.

CFM has delivered more than 10,000 LEAP engines worldwide, with the engine family continuing to receive durability and maintenance upgrades designed to improve reliability, extend time on wing and reduce operating costs.
