Cape Verde Approves US$5.3 Million Guarantee for TACV 737-8 Lease

The Cape Verde government has approved a US$5.25 million sovereign guarantee for TACV – Transportes Aéreos de Cabo Verde covering obligations related to the operating lease of a Boeing 737-8.

The aircraft is leased from Altitude II Aircraft Seven DAC and has been operating with TACV since July 2023, supporting services from Cape Verde to Lisbon, Paris, Providence and Recife.

The government said the guarantee is necessary to maintain the existing operation, warning that failure to provide it within the contractual deadline could disrupt TACV’s operations and international connectivity.

The guarantee totals US$5,250,780 and will cover a 12-month period from July 14, 2026 through July 13, 2027.

The measure was approved by Cape Verde’s Council of Ministers on June 17, 2026 and published under Resolution No. 94/2026.
