Mammoth Freighters Begins First Boeing 777-200LR Conversion at STAECO in China

Mammoth Freighters has inducted its first Boeing 777-200LR aircraft for passenger-to-freighter conversion at STAECO’s facility in Qingdao, China, expanding its international modification network.

The aircraft, registration N60VL (MSN 39254), is owned by Jetran and represents the first Mammoth 777 freighter conversion undertaken by STAECO following its appointment as a modification partner.

The aircraft will undergo conversion to the 777-200LRMF configuration, designed to provide long-range widebody cargo capacity. STAECO will perform the modification work using its existing aircraft maintenance and freighter conversion capabilities.

The induction establishes Mammoth’s first conversion operation in China, complementing its existing modification partnerships in the United States and United Kingdom.

Mammoth expects the additional facility to increase conversion capacity and provide greater geographic flexibility for aircraft owners and operators, particularly those serving Asian cargo markets.

The company did not disclose the expected completion date, conversion cost or intended operator of the aircraft.
