PowerJet signs exclusive SaM146 engine maintenance contract with Interjet

Mexico City, November 14, 2012 – Interjet, represented by CEO José Luis Garza, and PowerJet, represented by Jacques Desclaux, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, signed a “by the hour” maintenance agreement, covering 40 SaM146 engines powering Interjet’s new Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) regional jets. Interjet and PowerJet also signed a Letter Agreement for the purchase of spare engines.

These agreements follow Interjet’s firm order from SuperJet International for 20 Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft, along with options for 10 more. The first Interjet aircraft is now being completed at SuperJet International in Venice with delivery planned next year.

Through this contract, Interjet will benefit for the next nine years from PowerLife™, a dedicated customer service package covering the engine and the engine LRUs*, including access to a PowerJet pool, as well as access to a first PowerJet lease pool engine based in Quéretaro. A dedicated PowerJet field representative will be onsite at Interjet’s operational base at Mexico Airport (MEX) one month prior to the entry into service. He will be seconded by an Engine Maintenance On Site (EMOS) expert during the initial months of operation, to ensure flawless entry into service of the engines at Interjet.

“We are proud of this long-term partnership that fully meets Interjet’s requirements, since we wanted a single partner able to provide a complete range of support services. Through this agreement, Interjet will enjoy greater operational flexibility and fleet availability” said José Luis Garza, CEO of Interjet. This Mexican airline, based in Mexico and Toluca, operates domestic passenger services for national and international destinations as Las Vegas, Costa Rica, San Antonio or Miami.

“We are extremely pleased to sign this exclusive SaM146 maintenance contract with Interjet, reflecting PowerJet’s fullfledged commitment to offering a complete service organization," said Jacques Desclaux, Chairman & CEO of PowerJet. “PowerJet is fully dedicated to supporting all SSJ100 aircraft in service by setting up a comprehensive customer service structure that will meet all of their expectations.”

PowerJet is committed to delivering maximum value to its customers through a product that strikes a perfect balance between advanced technologies and proven experience.

On May 18, 2011, PowerJet announced its comprehensive new customer care service, dubbed PowerLifeTM. This dedicated SaM146 customer service organization ensures fast and reliable access to services and information anywhere in the world, in addition to the AOG hotline open 24/7. PowerJet is the world’s first manufacturer of regional jet engines to provide a single point-of-contact for all customer support and service needs concerning the complete propulsion system, including engine, equipment and nacelle.

The company manages the SaM146 engine program, including development, production, marketing and sales, as well as customer support and MRO services. In April 2003, the SaM146 engine was selected by Sukhoi Civil Aircraft to power its Superjet 100 regional jet.
