Standard Chartered Finances Nine New Aircraft for United Airlines

Standard Chartered has completed approximately US$390 million in financing for nine new aircraft for United Airlines, supporting the carrier’s ongoing fleet modernization and fuel-efficiency strategy.

The financing covers four Airbus A321neo and five Boeing 737-8 aircraft. Standard Chartered acted as Lead Arranger and Initial Lender for the transaction.

The financing supports United’s continued investment in next-generation narrowbody aircraft as the airline expands and optimizes its fleet.

“As fleet investment requirements continue to grow, airlines increasingly value financing partners that can act in a timely manner and deliver financing solutions at scale,” said Abhishek Pandey, Global Head of Transportation Finance at Standard Chartered.

Standard Chartered said the transaction builds on its existing relationship with United Airlines and reflects the continued expansion of its aviation finance business.
