Transaero Airlines Key Results for 2010
Moscow, January 12, 2010. In 2010 Transaero Airlines went on with implementing its growth strategy reaching again record results which exceeded significantly the planned figures.
Thus, the preliminary numbers for the period from January 1 to December 31, 2010, are the following:
· Passenger turnover reached 26.24 billion RPK (while the plan was 22.49 billion RPK) which is 40.1 % higher than for the same period of 2009
· The total number of passengers carried amounted to 6,648,000 (planned figure was 5,799,000 passengers). Compared to 2009 the growth reached 32.3%
· Total revenue reached 61.88 billion rubles (the plan was 46.7 billion rubles), representing a 60% increase over 2009
· As for 31 December 2010, the company’s cash balance stood at 2.047 billion rubles
The figures seem especially impressive given that in 2009 Transaero demonstrated positive development dynamics compared to 2008 despite the global crisis.
In 2010 the airline launched more than 20 regular domestic and international flights. Such landmarks as Moscow – Beijing and Moscow – New York are among the added routes.
Twelve more aircraft have been added to the company’s fleet with a unique Boeing 747-400 among them, the first aircraft in Russia with more than 500 seats capacity.
In 2010 Transaero created more than 2 thousand working positions for high skilled professionals. The company’s staff now includes 7 thousand employees.
2010 results prove that Transaero has chosen the right strategy and tactics and can be proud of high professionalism of its team and management.
