Biman Bangladesh Airlines has placed a firm order for 10 Airbus aircraft, adding four A350-900 widebodies and six A321neos as part of its fleet modernization and international expansion plans.
The agreement introduces both Airbus types to Biman’s future fleet and gives the airline additional capacity to expand from its Dhaka hub. The A350s are expected to support long-haul growth, including planned services to North America and additional European markets.
The six A321neos will provide Biman with new-generation narrowbody capacity for regional and medium-haul operations, including markets across the Middle East.
The Airbus transaction follows Biman’s recent Boeing order for five 787-10s and six 737-8s. Together, the two agreements add 21 firm aircraft commitments across four narrowbody and widebody types.
Biman said the additional capacity is intended to address growing international travel demand from Bangladesh, including traffic generated by the country’s large overseas population and expanding trade links.
Engine selections, delivery schedules and financial terms for the Airbus order were not disclosed.
