KLM Takes Delivery of First Airbus A350-900

KLM has taken delivery of its first Airbus A350-900, introducing a new widebody type to its fleet as part of the Dutch carrier’s long-haul fleet renewal program.

The aircraft is configured for 331 passengers across three cabins, comprising 34 Business Class suites with direct aisle access, 26 Premium Comfort seats and 271 Economy seats. It also features satellite connectivity and Airbus’ Airspace cabin.

KLM plans to deploy the A350 from its Amsterdam Schiphol hub on long-haul services, including flights to Toronto.

The A350 joins a KLM Airbus fleet that currently includes 10 A330-family aircraft and 17 A321neos. Its introduction extends the airline’s ongoing transition to newer-generation aircraft from short-haul operations into its long-haul fleet.

Powered by Rolls-Royce engines, the A350-900 has a range of up to 9,700 nautical miles, or approximately 18,000 kilometers.

Airbus had recorded more than 1,620 orders for the A350 family from 69 customers as of the end of August 2026.
