Luxair Expands Embraer E2 Fleet with Order for Three E190-E2 Aircraft

Luxair has expanded its Embraer E2 fleet by converting purchase rights for three E190-E2 aircraft into firm orders while securing an additional purchase right, increasing its total firm E2 order book to nine aircraft.

The Luxembourg flag carrier previously ordered six E195-E2s, four of which are already in service. The addition of the smaller E190-E2 will provide greater flexibility to match capacity with demand while maintaining commonality across the E2 fleet through shared pilot type ratings, maintenance infrastructure and operating procedures.

The first E190-E2 is scheduled for delivery at the end of 2028. Configured with 100 seats, the aircraft will primarily operate high-frequency business routes and feature Embraer’s 2-2 seating layout, premium seat spacing, USB charging at every seat and wireless in-flight entertainment.

The E190-E2 is designed to deliver lower fuel consumption, reduced emissions and a significantly smaller noise footprint than previous-generation aircraft, supporting Luxair’s fleet modernization strategy while enhancing operational efficiency and passenger comfort.
